Death and entrepreneuring in family businesses: a complexity and stewardship perspective

Based on the works of Alistair Anderson, this article explores entrepreneuring in context entrepreneurial families prior to, and following, death a leading family member business. Until now, literature has suggested that loss may bring complexity chaos to ongoing efforts. Drawing complex adaptive system stewardship perspective, study examines role four families. With business, social processes adaptation trajectories are revealed. Our analysis shows these allow members reorganize, recalibrate, reconnect aspects contributes understanding by capturing how can influence choices progression over time, focusing what entrepreneurs do.
